The Cut-Through Calm Series pays homage to the Motorway Madness, etc. series, but celebrates handy cut-throughs for those on foot, bike, pushchair, etc. A lot of caches are placed on/near footpaths, but this series is only for those based specifically on cut-throughs in urban locations. Of course, we do not wish to cause any alarm, so footpaths with houses are also excluded.
In honesty we are not expecting this series to expand across the nation, but you are welcome to continue the series or reuse the idea (in as much as it is an idea). We hope to place more ourselves, too.
While there is an element of humour in honouring cut-throughs, some are rather pretty and others offer a new way of discovering an area. We hope you enjoy visiting them.
This cache is on a path linking Greenland View, above, and Greenland Mills, below. We would recommend parking above and heading down the track, which can get muddy after rain.
There are interesting views to be had (not sadly right by the cache but on the path network around it) of the river, railway and riverside development. Other cut-throughs are linked via the end of Greenland View.
You are looking for a tall round plastic pot with black tape on. Do take care to hide it as best possible.
Congratulations to antpeng who was FTF all four (so far)!
