Geocache Description:

A cemetery used by the Stemmons family and other neighbors that dates back to the Civil War.

This is the final resting place for early Jasper County settlers.  History tells us that during the Civil War there was a homestead not far from this cemetery.  The Confederates learned of a secret meeting of Union supporters and burned the home down while the meeting was taking place.

Because this is a cemetery, please do not visit after dark and be respectful to the place.

This is an easy park and go. Please lock the gate with the chain when finished!
