Let's face it. Famous people are a prime source of disappointment. We build them up to superhero status and more often than not our expectations are dashed when their true nature is revealed. Lance Armstrong was a legendary cyclist noted for seven consecutive Tour de France titles from 1999 through 2005. He also battled cancer and became an inspiration to many though his Livestrong Foundation. Unfortunately, after more than a decade of refuting rumors of his usage of illegal, performance enhancing drugs, he finally admitted the truth. He was stripped of his titles in August of 2012, fired from his racing team, and banned for life from racing.
