Geocache Description:

The River Lee Navigation begins in Hertford and makes it's way down to Limehouse Basin. There is a great deal of history to the river - eg near Enfield lock is the site of the former Enfield Small Arms Factory.

There are numerous locks and bridges and of course a tow path that runs all the way along the river - great for cycling and walking. Some parts of the river are more attractive than others; there are areas where you can see a lot of wildlife. Along the route are many opportunities to explore The Lee Valley Regional Park.

The tow path can be reached from nearby train stations such as Tottenham hale, Cheshunt and Broxbourne. There are also some cafes and pubs. We adopted this series of caches from P- Smiffy Clan and are extending the series further north.

This cache is a microcache placed where there is a view of the Stanstead Marina. The towpath in this section can be very wet and muddy in the winter.
