Lovers Key
Paddle Craft CITO

Join the Friends of Lover Key (FOLKS), our friend PilotSearcher, and the local geocaching community for a Paddle Craft Cache In Trash Out (C.I.T.O.) EVENT on Sunday, April 27, 2014.  We’ll meet at 10:00 a.m. to strategize and go from there.

Bring your kayak, canoe, or paddle board!  Believe it or not, you will be able to launch paddle craft at this location.   Don’t have one?  No worries!  We’ve got areas for the “landlubbers” too!

There will be a Travel Bug presented as a door prize for some lucky participant!

The park will provide trash bags and pickers.  Items you should bring or wear include:

Old Shoes, Water Shoes or Rubber Boots
Long Pants & Long Sleeved Shirt
Gardening or Work Gloves (Park has a limited Supply)
Hat, Sun Screen, Bug Spray
Water and Snacks

Rain or shine, let’s get together on Sunday, April 27th.  You don’t have to be a cacher to participate – but if you’re not careful, you might just catch the bug!

Please Post a “Will Attend” so we can make sure we have enough supplies.

For the uninitiated, Cache In Trash Out (CITO; pronounced “see-toe”) is an ongoing initiative practiced by geocachers worldwide. Cachers are dedicated to helping the environment by picking up trash in parks and other cache-friendly places to help preserve the natural beauty. CITO events are held year-round, and focus on litter clean-up, removal of invasive exotic plants, revegetation of native species, and building or maintaining trails.  The international CITO weekend is traditionally set around Earth Day.

A special "Souvenir" icon will be awarded for this event.
