Known as the Chapel by the creek
The present chapel was had its foundation stone laid on June 13 1861 but there are newspaper accounts saying that before this '200 people enjoyed a social tea to raise funds for a new chapel'
Building work started , presumably after demolishing the existing chapel and large quantities of powder for blasting were acquired for removing rock from the hillside.
The opening celebrations took place on 30 January 1862 comprised services in the morning and evening and a bazaar.
