This cache was placed in the winter along a snowmobile trail. It is our hope that spring will find it not too wet and poison ivy free. We created this as a roughly one mile loop. By parking at Dysarts at the corner of Griffin and Broadway, cachers wishing to do the loop should start with Aran. Suggested order would be Aran, Chimay, Callanish, Skye, Roma, Mdina, and Malta.
NOTE: please bring your own pen or pencil.
Skye: The island of Skye, is the largest and most northerly island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. Like Malta, Skye needed a return visit. For magic, a visit to the Fairy Glen, outside of Uig, is a must. This remote location almost assures a private visit and opportunity to wander up its many conical hills. Little did we know, Stardust on the Hills (GC2F1GR) was under our feet! Like much of the Hebrides, Skye gives you the feeling of stepping back in time. The weather may not warm you, but the sights and the people surely will. We would love to return to cache this amazing part of Scotland.
Our Skye was born under the steps of our son’s apartment building. After the complex management company began to set out traps for the mother and kittens we decided to capture her ourselves. It took many weeks for this beautiful gray kitten to realize she had found a forever home. She is still very timid and visitors to our home believe she is a myth.
