Geocache Description:

I am new to this hobby and have quickly become an obsessed fan, but like many newbies, I have discovered that any park that has a view, water feature of any kind, groomed trails, sculptures or art of any kind, cute pocket parks, playgrounds, grassy knolls, animal life, kiosks, dog friendly, benches, picnic areas, skatepark, basketball or tennis courts, and any kind of garden, already has a cache in it and rightfully so.

So one day, I went to find cache GC49V3D (Hook Line Sinker) at the entrance to James Keough Park and decided to walk through the park, what I saw brings me to:

A Sad Park

The small little street is gated off so the parking is limited to side streets, bordering on the South side is the dump, oh sorry "transfer and recycling station". As you walk up the small street you pass a pile of bleachers on your left, and on your right are piles of cement blocks, I didn't recognize them at first, but when I saw the starfish I realized these were left over blocks from the bicycle path that is part of the Interurban trail that goes over 155th and Aurora, and straight ahead is a small building fenced off with "Do Not Enter, and Danger" signs. Once you get past the bleachers you can start heading North, there is a children's play area (the only bright spot), located right next to the play area is a fenced in tennis court with hip high weeds, bordering on the East side is the freeway, so attractive and a deafening roar, no sound wall here. As you follow the fence you will come across a dilapidated baseball backstop, shoved up against the chain link fence, it's rusted and all the netting is rotted. On the West side are the homes that border the park with 6-8ft privacy fences. On the North side there are massive blackberry brambles. You will easily find the cache, I honestly didn't spend much time hiding it, not to worried about mugglers here, it will be an easy find, but you won't be able to do it under a minute because the fact is you have to walk across the soggy, muddy, drenched grassy area that is always wet. I would suggest wearing good boots, and if it's rained in the last month you might consider hip waders, or you can hug the fence which is equally unappealing. You are looking for a ABS pipe that opens at both ends. I wanted to put a cache here so I can visit the park more frequently and see what happens if anything in the future.

Couldn't get a coffee card in container so left something else for the FTF,    Log is in copper container,  room for small toys

Congrats to Geohigleys for FTF and GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!
