Near the GZ, you can find a small temple related to the history of this district. Quarry Bay (鰂魚涌) was a bay where quarried rocks from the hillside for building and construction but the original bay has disappeared due to the land reclamation for the urban development.
In the 18th century, there was a doctor 魏和珍, nicknamed the Second Grand-Uncle (二伯公), lived in Seven Sisters Hill (七姊妹山). He was famous for offering free medical treatment to the neighbor. Since he was a specialist in STD, many of his patients were prostitutes. Near the cave where Doctor Wei lived, there were 2 rocks shaped like sex organs. Some prostitutes believed that worshiping these rocks could bring them more businesses and wealth. Later on, for repaying the serious diseases being cured, a couple helped to build a temple naming after the doctor beside his cave, aka. 二伯公廟. After the doctor past away, the temple was still popular as there were numerous night clubs in the region. In 1980s, Seven Sisters Hill was removed in order to build the MTR and thus the original temple was destroyed, and a new 二伯公廟 was built near the GZ. The temple and this hillside provides a unique scene to a region surrounding by commercial buildings. Please bring your own pen!
