This is a significant and particularly historical place for the Seahawks and 49ers franchises. It is right next to the billboard where the San Francisco 49ers, rivals of Seattle, had a graphic showcasing their five super bowl trophies that also included the words "Got Lombardis?". The billboard, visible from the cache site, featured the controversial graphic in the week leading up to the NFC Championship game where the Seahawks beat the 49ers in a close game, 23 to 17. This lead the Seahawks to Super Bowl XLVII where they would crush the Denver Broncos 43 to 8, earning the first Lombardi trophy for the Seahawks franchise.
A group of 49ers fans raised the $9000 for the billboard. Their intent was to troll the Seahawk fans, although the joke was on them. Many of the articles written by the 49ers proponents about the billboard included ignorant comments like "It's right along I-5 about 20 miles away from Seattle!" A bunch of 49er fans would travel to the billboard to look at the lore days before the NFC Championship in Seattle, only to come find out that it was on a relatively small billboard among many bigger ones over 25 miles away from Seattle in the Fife area.
I'm sure this rivalry will include many heated, close games like the 2014 NFC Championship and it wouldn't surprise me if controversial moves like this billboard come up between both the Seahawks and 49ers fans in the future. Though, this time the 49ers will have to address the Seahawks as former champions, as the Seahawks now, and finally, have a Lombardi trophy to their name (as it should be their second championship, Super Bowl 40 am I right?).
You can see the billboard where the "Got Lombardi?" graphic was at northeast of GZ.
