Springtime is approaching,and the Rangers of Hartsholme Park will be busy preparing the Park areas for visitors. So please come along and lend a hand at a C.I.T.O event,which will take place during the National C.I.T.O weekend,on Sunday 27th April 2014.Anyone attending a C.I.T.O event during this weekend will earn a 2014 C.I.T.O souvenir on their Geocaching Profile.
Please meet outside the Visitor Centre at 10.15am. The event will start at 10.30 a.m with a short briefing by one of the Park Rangers and will finish at 12.30 p.m..
The Visitor Centre is signposted from the main car park.see waypoints.
The event will involve general litter picking for approximately 2 hours,in an area designated by the Rangers. The event is limited to 30 people. If you wish to attend please indicate how many will be in your group on your "I will attend" log.
Equipment i.e Litter Pickers and black bags will be provided. Please wear suitable footwear i.e steel toe cap boots,wellingtons hiking boots or solid shoes. Training shoes and any type of open toed footwear will not be acceptable. You may also want to bring wet weather gear,just in case it does rain,and gloves.I can provide gloves if required.
All attendees will be covered by Insurance,provided they stay within the guidelines of the risk assessment by the Park Rangers. Information available on the day.
Children are permitted,but only on the following arrangement: They must be over 16 years of age,and supervised by an adult. This is due to Insurance restrictions.
Disabled people are welcome,but please contact me as soon as possible,so that suitable work can be arranged for you.
Although Dogs are permitted on the park,during the C.I.T.O dogs will not be permitted.
Toilets including disabled facilities are available. There is also a cafe serving hot and cold drinks,and light snacks.
If the main car park is full,there is an overflow car park available. Drive back to the park entrance,and turn left.The overflow car park is a short distance along the main road on the right hand side. Please be careful when crossing the road back to the park. Please use the pedestrian crossing close to the park entrance.
