Lake Weatherford , located just North of I-20 about 19 miles West of downtown Fort Worth, was impounded in 1957. The surface area is 1158 acres and its maximum depth is 39 feet. It is a good place to fish for largemouth bass, catfish and crappie. The marina features good hamburgers, bait and tackle, boat rentals, boat repair, a volleyball court, picnicking, a fishing pier and a newly remodeled boat ramp with gasoline available from the water. There is a nice park nearby with a popular Frisbee golf course. Lake activities include boating, fishing, skiing, wakeboarding, sailing and, my personal favorite, sitting in a lawn chair in the shallows drinking beer.
This is a two-stage multi-cache and my first cache to place. The final is loaded with several items for trade. Tread carefully, because there are thorny briars about! This multi cache is a bit different than most. Stage 1 is at the posted coordinates, but to find the final stage you must solve the puzzle and apply the result as directed at Stage 1.
So, before you head out to find the first stage micro, you will have to do a little work. The following word puzzle is an adaptation of a “7 Little Words” puzzle, which is available through a popular smartphone app. As a warm-up, you might want to download the app and work a couple of the free puzzles. To begin, solve the word clues using the grouped letters found in the blue boxes. As an example, the first word clue is solved for you. Once you complete the puzzle, enter the solution as an eight-digit number into Certitude to check your result.
Record all eight numbers and symbols and take them with you to Stage 1. When you find the Stage 1 container, it will become obvious how to use the puzzle solution to locate the final cache. Good luck! Congrats to poocow as FTF!
You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
