Geocache Description:

AN INTERESTING NOTE FROM TONICZECH (a geocacher from Czech Republic) Actually, Alois Štorch was 24, almost 25 at time of his death. He was a locksmith by occupation and was born on July 21, 1893 in town of Česká Lípa in northern Bohemia - see an article from a regional newspaper /in Czech/). After the Great War his remains were transferred to Prague, where he is interred at Olšany Cemetery at a honorary military section alongside several dozens of other Czechoslovak legionnaires, who were executed by Austro-Hungarian authorities elsewhere at Italian theatre of war. There is also a plaque on house of his family in village of Nová Ves near Bakov nad Jizerou (Mladá Boleslav District, NE Bohemia) - see also this set of photos from an annual commemoration there. Very detailed account on his mission and fatal end (with photos of the gallows) is included in this [url=http://www.csol-mb.net/pdf/legie_italie.pdf]pdf publication[url] (2009) summarizing actions of Czechoslovak legions in Italy. I'm going to add this cache to a new bookmark list, dedicated to the Great War, which is just beeing preparated. Thanks a lot for the remembrance because this is a site and person of significance for our country (akin to what Nazario Sairo is for yours)
