Geocache Description:

KT35 – George and the Dragon.
Hazel Pear, Acton Bridge.
From 18:30 on Wednesday 23rd April 2014.

The event will keep to the established KT formula of good food, good drink and of course plenty geochat.

The Hazel Pear is a family run pub in Acton Bridge, with roaring fires in winter, and an outdoor patio area in summer. For this event they have kindly relaxed the 8pm cut-off for well behaved children, but have pointed out they do not have any high chairs. They offer a varied menu of freshly prepared meals that can be seen on their own website. Geo-dogs are welcome in the boot room and on the terrace, where there’s drinking water and a jar of doggie treats for well behaved geo-dogs!

As has become normal, it is hoped to place a cache or two for the evening, though this may prove difficult as it is already a “cache-rich” area with many within walking distance of the pub. Once cache details are known nearer the time I’ll include them on an announcement for those who have logged a “will attend”.

As this event is taking place in Easter week when many people are on holiday, why not spend the day in the area. Suggested caches include :

- Parallel Lines series. (Walk of 25 caches starting at GC4J7J4)
- Cache me if you can series (Mostly drive-bys, see GC4PW61)
- Hang Loose mini series (Walk of 11 on lanes, bridleways and paths – see GC4DMW7)
- Little Budworth Country (Walk of 41 caches starting at GC40MH9)
- A Ruck of caches (Walk of 38 caches starting at GC36840)
- Whitegate Waddle (Walk of 34 caches starting at GC4WN46)
- For the more adventurous, a series of four by the River Weaver (see GC4PMGM)
- and for a real challenge, the famous (or infamous!) Beware Bird! (GC4KV3E) or Beware Fish (GC4YKFT)

Finally, during the evening I’ll be holding a raffle with all proceeds being donated to the North Wales 2016 UK Mega-event. Any donations of prizes will be greatly appreciated.

Please help me by logging your attendance in good time. If you note in your log the number of attendees and whether or not you expect to be eating, I can keep the pub updated on numbers.
