Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Cabell County GeoTrail, sponsored by the Cabell Huntington Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB)

This trail is comprised of 15 caches of which you have to find 12; Three of these caches are mandatory. There are BONUS caches.

Each site has a code word that you have to fill in on the geocaching rack card available for the Trail. Rack cards can be picked up at the Visitors Center downtown.

Once these cards are turned in to the CVB and verified, you will be asked to fill out a very short information card and you will receive a custom made trackable geocoin. The contact information for the Cabell Huntington CVB is:

Address: 210 11th St, Huntington, WV 25701
Phone:(304) 525-7333 M-F 9 to 5 and Saturday 10-5. If you need to pickup a coin on Sunday, email cachencabell@gmail.com

The arena is a municipal complex located in the downtown area of Huntington, West Virginia - one block west of Pullman Square. It consists of a 9,000-seat multi-purpose arena and an attached conference center. It is currently home to numerous concerts, events, sporting events, and was the home of the Huntington Hammer of the Ultimate Indoor Football League for 2011. Marshall University's graduation ceremonies (as well as Huntington High School and Cabell Midland High School) are also held at the arena.

The $10.5 million arena was completed in 1977 and was the largest in the state when it opened. In late 2011 the building was closed for 4 months for another renovation, including replacement of all seating. In 2012, the arena purchased the basketball floor from the soon to be demolished Veterans Memorial Fieldhouse. The floor was originally installed in the Cam Henderson Center and was sold to the Fieldhouse when the current Henderson Center floor was intalled. This floor still has the markings and logo's from Marshall University's Mid-American Conference (MAC) era.

THERE IS NO NEED TO DISTURB ANY LANDSCAPING OR LEAVE THE CONCRETE WHERE YOU ARE WALKING.

Special thanks to Clive and Juliana for hiding this cache.
