Sanktuarium Bożego Miłosierdzia w Krakowie Multi-Cache

Do Sanktuarium Bożego Miłosierdzia w Krakowie-Łagiewnikach przyjeżdziają pielgrzymi z całego świata. Jego sercem jest kaplica klasztorna z łaskami słynącym obrazem Jezusa Miłosiernego i grobem św. Faustyny.

Ta multi-cache ma na celu przybliżyć najważniejsze miejsca w Sanktuarium oraz jego historię. Zapraszam do zwiedzania...

1. Klasztor Zgromadzenia Sióstr Matki Bożej Miłosierdzia w Krakowie-Łagiewnikach znany jest w świecie z racji powstania w nim Sanktuarium Bożego Miłosierdzia. Jest to obecnie największy klasztor żeński w Polsce. Obiekt klasztorny ufundował książę Aleksander Lubomirski pod koniec XIX wieku.

2. Na dziedzińcu przed klasztorem stoi figura św. Józefa. Jemu dedykowana była pierwotnie kaplica klasztorna, a całą posesję Zgromadzenia nazwano „Józefowem”, gdyż siostry właśnie św. Józefowi przypisywały jej powstanie.

3. W tym klasztorze ponad 5 lat mieszkała św. Siostra Faustyna Kowalska (1905-1938). Tutaj miała wiele objawień Pana Jezusa, Matki Bożej, aniołów, świętych…, napisała większą część słynnego „Dzienniczka”. Pracowała w kuchni, ogrodzie i na furcie klasztornej. W miejscu dawnej furty jest dzisiaj dom pielgrzyma. Przy recepcji znajduje się zrekonstruowana cela zakonna, w której można zobaczyć związane z nią oryginalne pamiątki.

4. Siostra Faustyna chorowała na gruźlicę, zmarła w wieku 33 lat 5 października 1938 roku. Idąc do kaplicy klasztornej można zobaczyć udekorowane okno z tablicą informującą, że w tym pokoju (dawnej infirmerii)  zmarła św. Faustyna.

5. W kaplicy klasztornej znajduje się cudowny obraz Jezusa Miłosiernego i grób św. Siostry Faustyny. Jej misja polega na głoszeniu całemu światu biblijnej prawdy o miłości miłosiernej Boga do każdego człowieka, zachęcaniu do ufności wobec Niego i czynnej miłości bliźniego. Z jej objawień pochodzi obraz Jezusa Miłosiernego, Święto Bożego Miłosierdzia, Koronka do Bożego Miłosierdzia, Godzina  miłosierdzia (15:00) oraz zaproszenie do szerzenia czci Bożego Miłosierdzia.

6. Orędzie o Bożym miłosierdziu przekazane przez św. Siostrę Faustynę rozeszło się po całym świecie. Posesja klasztorna w Krakowie-Łagiewnikach stała się światowym centrum kultu Bożego Miłosierdzia. Do łaskami słynącego obrazu Jezusa Miłosiernego i grobu Siostry Faustyny przybywały coraz większe rzesze pielgrzymów. Z tego względu wybudowano bazylikę, którą w 2002 roku poświęcił papież Jan Paweł II i w niej cały świat zawierzył Bożemu Miłosierdziu.

7. Poniżej bazyliki znajduje się cmentarz Zgromadzenia Matki Bożej Miłosierdzia, na którym spoczywają kapelani klasztoru, siostry i ich wychowanki.

Every year lots of pilgrims from all over the world visit The Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Lagiewniki. The heart of the Sanctuary is the Convent Chapel with the Image of Divine Mercy and the tomb of St. Faustina.

The aim of this multi-cache is to present the most important places of The Sanctuary and a bit of its history. We invite you to sightseeing and descovering the cache.

1. The Convent House of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Kraków-Łagiewniki is famous in the world thanks to the Chapel with the Image of Divine Mercy. The convent building was founded by the Prince Aleksander Lubomirski at the end of the 19th century. Now it is the biggest nunnery in Poland.

2. In the courtyard in front of the main building of the Convent House thare is a statue of St. Joseph. The convent chapel was dedicated to him at the begining. All the Convent premises were called „Józefów”, because the sisters associated their foundation with St.Joseph.

3. St. Faustina Kowalska (1905-1938) lived in this Convent House for over 5 years. Here she had many visions of the Lord Jesus, Our Lady, angels and saints.... and she also wrote the major part of the famous „Diary”. She worked in the convent's kitchen, in the garden and as a portress. Today in the place of the old entrance to the convent premises (FURTA), where she worked, the Pilgrim House is situated. At the reception there is a replica of a monastic cell (St.Faustina’s cell), where you can see many things that are connected with the life of St. Faustina.

4. St. Faustina suffered for the tuberculosis. She died at the age of 33 on the 5th October 1938. Approaching the convent Chapel, you can see a decorated window with the board below informing that St. Faustina died in this room (the former infirmary).

5. In the Convent chapel there is the Miraculous Image of Merciful Jesus and the tomb of St. Faustina. Her mission wasto proclaim to the whole world the biblical truth about the merciful love of God towards every human being, as well as to encourage people to place their trust in Him and to perform acts of mercy in their lives. From her visions we have come to know the image of Merciful Jesus, the Feast of Mercy, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, the Hour of Mercy (3:00 pm) and invitation to spreading the worship of Divine Mercy.

6. The message of Divine Mercy conveyed by St. Faustina has been spread in the whole world. The Convent premises in Kraków-Łagiewniki have become the world centre of the Devotion to Divine Mercy. Crowds of pilgrims come here to pray in front of the Miraculous Image of Merciful Jesus and the tomb of St. Sister Faustina. Therefore, there was a need to build nearby a new bigger church – a Basilica. It was consecrated in 2002 by John Paul II, who entrusted the world to DivineMercy then.

7. Below the Basilica, there is a cemetery of the Congregation of Our Lady of Mercy, where the mortal remains of chaplains, sisters and wards are buried.
