Geocache Description:

Does everyone know that our Flathead River's original name was the 'Pend Oreille River'? This cache brings you to the corner of 5th St & 4th Ave W which provides you with a fantastic view of the outlet from Flathead Lake into the Pend Oreille River (Flathead River) as well as Polson's Armed Forces Memorial Bridge.

You are searching for a micro that is log only.  You may need some tweezers, and you will need your own writing untensil.  You do not need to tear anything up.  There are "No Tresspassing" signs on the fence, which is fine, you do NOT need to cross the fence which would put you onto private property.  Stay on the city street side of the fence.  Owners of poperty on other side of the fence have been contacted and okay'd placement, even though placement is not on their property, just very close, I wanted to extend the courtesy of letting them know what's going on if they see people on the street corner looking around.  This IS doable in the winter!  Here is a link of an article written by local Paul Fugleberg about the first bridge built across the Pend Oreille river. http://missoulian.com/lifestyles/hometowns/paul-fugleberg-polson-s-first-bridge-across-the-pend-oreille/article_8bf1f03e-3f89-11e3-9f18-001a4bcf887a.html
