Myakka River State Park is one of the oldest and largest state parks. The Myakka River flows through the park, providing lots of opportunities for wildlife viewing, photography, hiking, boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and of course, geocaching. Don’t miss the canopy walkway located in the treetops for a great bird’s eye view! There is a boat ramp providing access to the Upper Myakka Lake. If you enjoy camping, both full-facility and primitive campsites are available, along with log cabins. A word to the wise – bring bug spray, sun screen and water. Myakka River State Park is a treasure. Come and plan to spend a few hours or a few days exploring all it has to offer! You’ll be glad you did!

Cache hidden by punkterlou and Vic’s Plunder on one of our many hiking adventures in this amazing park. Hidden with permission of Steve Giguere, Asst. Park Manager.
When you’re hiking along, it sure is nice to come across a little oasis where you can rest in the shade and relax. This micro cache is on a sweet trail off of Pine Level Road. Enjoy the oasis, and while you’re there, perhaps you’ll find the cache! Be sure to bring your own pen.
