This cache placement is significant to me in many ways, it is placed near to two things that I consider to be key parts of my development. The school at GZ is the newest campus of the same institution which I once attended.
Wahroonga Adventist School began in a room at the rear of the Sydney Adventist Hospital in 1905. It was established to meet the needs of children whose parents worked at the hospital. Over it's 100+ years, the school has occupied 5 locations. It currently operates on a split campus with years prep- 2 on the older campus at 189 Fox Valley Road and 3-7 on this campus. New plans for this campus include further expansion making the school prep to year 12 in the coming years.
The nearby church also holds significance to me because it is the home of the Wahroonga Pathfinder club (who incidentally introduced me to geocaching), which is the oldest Pathfinder club in Australia. The Pathfinder movement is a worldwide movement which aims to foster capable leaders and outdoors persons with a christian focus. I owe many of my most memorable life experiences and skills to the Pathfinder movement and currently act in passing on the skills I have learnt (as well as my passion for the outdoors) as a leader with the Wahroonga club.
