Geocache Description:

Cache is located along a well maintained trail, but one that has a bridge to cross a small creek to negotiate when there has been wet weather, and an incline. Altitude about 300 feet ABS.


The cache will describe the Green Heron. Unlike the better known Great Blue Heron that relies somewhat on its size to avoid predation, the smaller Green Heron eludes predators with its quickness and ability to blend into shoreline vegetation. From the cache seekers will see the preferred habitat of this species. More information on the bird will be inside this plastic weatherproof box. While not a particularly long or difficult walk to the cache, those with small children or baby strollers should expect to carry them part of the way.
