Dog walk on the rec Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: Hi There

As the owner has not responded to either my log or my colleague's previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it.

Please note that once the cache has been archived, this can not be undone. This is explained in the Help Center - http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=70

You will need to create a new listing, put it back in for review and as long as it meets today's guidelines and no other caches have been published in the area causing a proximity problem, then it will be published.

Regards

Geocache Description:

This cache is at the highpoint of my regular dog walk

There is a carpark nearby at Brynteg library next to the war memorial gates.

This area is the local recreation ground and school playing field with playground, bowling green, village hall, and library on the site.

The area where the cache is located is at the top of the rec and has been made wildelife friendly by planting fruit trees and removing some topsoil to promote wildflowers, at certain times of year 5" ferns cover the area although the cache should still be accessible.

The rec is open ground and several small paths crisscross the area. I don't recommend a straight line from carpark to cache as this takes you up a steep wooded area

Once at cache site you should have good views over Wrexham with the Wrekin on the horizon, across the valley is an estate built on the site of Brymbo steelworks, part of the original steelworks can still be seen at far right of the site. Behind you is the quarry that supplied sandstone to build many of the local stone cottages and the memorial gates.

There is a bench available to sit and  admire the view, although the immediate surroundings are a little wild and untidy, as the name suggests there may be a few dog walkers about but this can be a quiet spot to sit and think.
