Calenardhon, or "green region" was the northwest portion of the realm of Gondor during the end of the second age. It was probably heavily forested initially, but when the Numenorians visited middle earth they felled most of the trees, leaving Fangorn forest as a remnant. Because of its location it was often overrun. In the third age, it was ceded by Gondor to the people of Eorl the Young who arrived in a timely fashion to save Gondor from an invasion. These horsemen later became the Rohirrim, and Calenardhon was renamed Rohan.
Pleasant Valley is very reminiscent of Calanardhon, but the letterbox is hidden south on FR 288. Park at the designated parking area, then up the hill you go. The letterbox is hidden Arizona Style at the top of the hill. Expect a short but steep climb with many "anklebreaker" rocks to tread over.
This is a letterbox hybrid. In addition to the normal logbook and trade items, it also contains a letterbox stamp, inkpad, and stamp book. Please do not remove the stamp, ink pad, or stamp book. THEY ARE NOT TRADE ITEMS!
