How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

at this location you will be looking for a pill bottle, and you will have to go on the island to retrieve it. it has a log of synthetic paper, which can be tricky to write on, so I recommend you have multiple writing implements. conditions at, and going to GZ can vary greatly seasonally. this cache could be as easy as a 2.5/1.5 everything in life can be a risk, including geocaching, exercise caution while seeking this or any other cache for that matter.

this cache placed with permission from James Seikel, from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. geocache permit is on file in the Portage Lakes Office. please follow all park rules while seeking this, and any other cache placed here. ratings reflect the need for special equipment to reach the cache location, so no complaining it's overrated please.

did I mention one of my other hobbies is fishing while walking on water? I've done it for years safely. when in doubt look around for other fishers near by, they'll be a key to let you know it's ok to walk to GZ. if you still have questions regarding ice, please feel free to contact me and I'll give you my best advise for free, and hopefully ease your worried mind.

I'm not sure why, but the idea of an "island cache" is appealing to me. I've found some caches on islands, and I've hid some island caches. I've had such fun with my first two islands caches I decided to hide another south of them, hence the name of this one. you'll not find a beautiful sandy beach, but you might find a smilie. coords to a parking area, and a boat launch ramp are also provided.

congratulations to PWNC on FTF 2-26-14
