Powstanie Styczniowe 1863 r. było największym polskim ruszeniem narodowym przeciwko Imperium Rosyjskiemu. Trwało od 22 stycznia 1863 r. do jesieni 1864. Powstańcy z Łodzi również zapisali się w kartach tej historii. 24 lutego 1863 r. stoczyli krwawy bój z Rosjanami pod Dobrą. Niestety, był on tragiczny w skutkach dla powstańców, większa ich ilość zginęła, część pojmano do niewoli.
O wydarzeniach tych przypomina drewniany krzyż znajdujący się niedaleko zbiegu ulic: Łagiewnickiej i Inflanckiej. Znajduje się na nim malutka i skromna tabliczka z napisem: "Miejsce Straceń Powstańców 1863 roku".

The Powstanie Styczniowe 1863 was the largest Polish national driving off against the Russian Empire. It lasted from 22 January 1863 until the autumn of 1864. Insurgents from Lodz also signed up in the pages of this history. February 24, 1863, the bloody battle fought with the Russians under Dobra. Unfortunately, it was tragic for the insurgents, increased their number killed, some captured into slavery. The events of these resembles a wooden cross located near the intersection of: Łagiewnicka and Inflancka. Located on the tiny and modest plaque with the inscription: "Place of Execution Insurgents 1863 years."
