This cemetery was deeded to the local IOOF lodge #33 in South Bend in 1897. As of 2000 it was reported to be abandoned, with parts of the cemetery having become over grown. It appeared to me on 2-28-2014 that it looked like the grass may have been mowed last summer, so it would appear there is some maintenance still happening. According to the records the cemetery was active from 1897 until sometime in the 1970's however there were a few internments in the early 1980's. Records from 2000 indicate there are 468 internments however it has been noted that the records are very incomplete and some graves are unmarked, and a few in unknown locations. A few of those unmarked graves were marked with wooden crosses in 2000.

The Cache is located in the cemetery near the back it is about chest high, the hint should be a good help if you need it.
While there are no posted hours, out of respect for the cemetery I ask that you limit your search to DAYLIGHT hours only please. While you are here please take your time and look around. There are a lot of interesting grave stones and a lot of history to enjoy here, but remember to be respectful, since the cemetery has been inactive since sometime in the 1970's it is unlikely that you will run into any mourners, but please be respectful of the grounds and any possible visitors that might not understand what we are doing. While the cache is NOT located near any graves, it is inside the cemetery, but please know that there is NO need to disturb any graves or markers.
Congratulations goes to Barter Clan for the First to Find!!!!!
