Geocache Description:

Sounds like a good book title. HMMMM.

You should spot the bell right away.  It can be seen from this spot. Be sure to put the cache back carefully so the little muggles don't destroy it.

If you have any info about the history of this bell please let me know so I can include it here.

This bell is a Steel Alloy 36 Church Bell made by the C. S. Bell Co. of Hillsboro, Ohio and weighs 750 pounds.  On May 23, 1899 it was placed in the Belfry of the Christian Church which stood on the south east corner of the block where the bell is now located.  In 1927 the bell was sold to the Lutheran Church in Blackwell, Ok.  On May 25th 1955 the Lutheran church was destroyed by a tornado and the bell remained unused until its return in 1977.   This memorial bell structure was completed May 23, 1980 exactly 81 years after the bell was originally installed.
