Geocache Description:

A simple traditional cache located on a wild driftwood strewn beach at the mouth of the Kowai River. Find the cache before someone burns it.

To get to the beach walk or mountain bike along the Kowai River Walk which starts at Leithfield.  The track is easy and even riders with little off road biking experience shouldn't have any difficulty. You can access the track beside the Kowai River Bridge (south end) in Leithfield, or from the river access track that continues from the corner of Old Main North Rd and Leithfield Rd near the Leighfield Pub.  It takes about 25 mins to ride to the beach.

The beach is steep and covered in driftwood logs and branches.  Great for the kids to make huts or other constructions.  The waves have been large and crash onto the beach the few times we have been here - not the best place to swim.  Also watch out for 2 and 4 wheel motorbikes zooming through enjoying the freedom of the open beach.

The cache is a 500ml screw top container containing when placed a log, pen, glitter stars, toy car, butterfly hair clip and banana eraser.
