Xtreme CITO Cache In Trash Out® Event

As part of the 12th Annual Cache In Trash Out Weekend and Pitch In Week Canada, we will be hosting a clean-up event at the Courtice Road beach area. We come here regularly to paddle in Lake Ontario, and there is always a need for clean-up!

We will supply the garbage bags; you supply the gloves and the enthusiasm. The municipality has agreed to pick up the full bags afterward. We will focus on the parking lot, road and beach area, but will also walk the Lake Ontario shoreline both east and west to look for debris that has washed up.

And where does the "Xtreme" part come in? Aside from the fact that the area is usually in extreme need of a clean-up, we will have a couple of watercraft available for people to try out. MrsSearchin will have her stand-up paddleboard (SUP), and MrSearchin will have his kayak, so anyone who is interested in trying them out (after the clean-up, of course) is welcome to do so. 

Be warned, though, if you fall into Lake Ontario in late April, you will likely notice an extreme change in temperature!
