Geocache Description:

The PAGA TB Race Committee would like to invite all geocachers near and far to come out to Settlers Cabin Park on June 7th! Our last two events that we have hosted have been in the winter, so we thought we would do things differently with this event and host it during the late spring and early summer time! It should not be cold this time for our little get together.

We have reserved Algonquin Shelter at Settlers Cabin on June 7th. The event will start at 11:00 AM and end around 4:00 PM. There are plenty of permanent caches located around the park that can be found during the day, so don't be bashful about not going out to grab a couple of them.

The event will be potluck, so please bring a dish that you can share with the rest of us. We will probably have some sort of sandwich tray or platter. Please post in your reply what you plan on bringing. Please be mindful that there is no electricity at any of the shelters, so hot plates or crock pots are probably not a good idea, unless the item is already cooked before hand.

But the main purpose of this event is to gather up all those Travel Bugs and Geocoins that are going to be taking part in the 2014/2015 Amazing Travel Bug and Geocoin Race. For all race information, please check out our race website http://www.wpaga.com/ATBR1415/. If you are interested in joining the race and you don't have a travel bug tag, be sure to bring your hitchhiker with you to the event, and we will have travel bug tags available for purchase. We should have an internet connection setup so you are able to register right on site. The race doesn't start until July 1st, so if you can't make the event, and you would like to enter the race, please contact us through this profile and send us a message. We will make arrangements with you to get your racer collected. But remember, all racers will need to be turned in by June 20th.

Here are some of the basic details for this years race:
1. Reach one of the 7 predetermined pit stops that have been setup around the world. There is one pit stop on each of the 7 continents, including Antarctica
2. Collect points from miles, caches that each racer has been placed in, reaching a pit stop, and event attended
3. Bugs cannot be mailed nor can they use the Wormhole caches that have been setup

Even if you have no interest at all in joining the race, please come out and spend the day with a bunch of cachers. Dogs are welcome as well, as long as they are friendly and can play nicely with other dogs and kids. There is a nearby playground, so the young ones won't be board also. Just keep an eye on them. There should be plenty of good caching stories floating around during the event, and because we are gong to be so close to Robinson, there are also plenty of local caches no within the park that can be found. We hope to see you here!
