In an effort to inspire the geocaching comunity to hide great caches, and to celebrate both great caches and their hiders (OK, and to get the much coveted souvenir), we're hosting our very own Maker Madness event in the Heart of the Valley on Tuesday, April 1 (no kidding!) at the Bean Roasted Cafe on Commercial Street. The event will begin at 7 pm and go till about 8:30 pm.
I like good caches. Don't get me wrong, I like regular sized containers neatly spaced at 161 meter intervals too, but I really like good caches. In order to accomplish the goals of this event, the following will hopefully take place during the event:
1) Geocaching Story Contests:
Contest # 1 - Craziest Geocaching Story
Contest # 2 - Favorite Geocache Found (ever)
Contest # 3 - Favorite Geocache Experience
2) Cache-parts Trade Fair - bring a few 'odds and ends' that might inspire someone to build a cache; then trade away!
3) The release of the 'Oz Car' Geocacher Travelbug who will travel from event to event. Not only will you be able to 'discover' this trackable, but it is our hope that someone will take Oz Car on to another event.
4) Some creative caches will be hidden in the area. Anyone finding them on Tuesday, April 1 may claim a 'group FTF'
There will be a prize for each of the contest categories, so come prepared to tell your tale!
