Geocache Description:

From March 28 – April 7, geocachers around the world will join together to celebrate the people in their community who make geocaching possible. Groundspeak calls this celebration "Maker Madness".

Attend this workshop on preparing geocaches and you will earn a souvenir!

Maker Madness Souvenir

In honour of Maker Madness, I want to give back to the Geocaching community by hosting a workshop to demonstrate the preparation of a basic cache container.  Each attendee will receive a container and a roll of camo tape.  We will assemble a cache container while discuss preparing, publishing and maintaining geocaches.  I will have on hand examples of several different pre-made (nano, bison, ammo can, etc.) and home made (bird houses, film canister, peanut butter jar, lock'n'lock, etc.) containers.

The following supplies will be provided to each attendee:

  • micro-sized container
  • roll of camouflage cloth tape
  • a log sheet with baggy

Each participant should bring a pair of scissors suitable for cutting cloth tape.  Everyone is welcome to bring in an additional container suiteable to covering in camo tape.  And please, bring along any of your creative containers to share your technique.

By the end of this event, you will be prepared with the knowledge (and the container) to go out and place a cache!

The workshop will be held at the Cassie Campbell Community Centre at the corner of Sandalwood Parkway and Chinguacousy Road in Brampton.

NOTE:  There is a fee of $5 per person for this event, to cover the cost of supplies and the room.
