After having attended 79 events, I’ve decided it must be about time to host one! – My 80th event!
And what better opportunity than a Maker Madness event! Similar events will be hosted and attended by geocachers all over the world! From March 28 – April 7, geocachers around the world will join to celebrate the people in their community who make geocaching possible – the cache makers! There will even be a virtual “souvenir” provided to all attendees! (Which will appear on your profile after you log your attendance.)
When: Sat 29 March starting at 10.00am
Where: Old Kambah Homestead (as per published coordinates).
The idea of this event, is to discuss all things “making geocaches” – you’ve seen them – everything from the ubiquitous mint tin, to amazing creations! Indeed, some of the caches I’ve found around here would have taken days, or even weeks to make!
Of course “making” a cache is not always just about the container! Certainly that is a rather important part, but making the cache experience into an adventure involves plenty of other aspects – including everything from making a puzzle, to finding just the right location, or maybe making that awesome multi!
We’ll discuss what makes a great cache! And maybe what makes a not so great cache! If anyone is working on any awesome ideas, and wants to share – you're welcome to do so! Of course – this is totally optional – cache hiders often like to surprise their finders once they get to GZ!
From previous events at this location, I have noticed that there are BBQs here! So if you want to stick around a little longer after the event, for a sausage in a sandwich – you are welcome! Starting at 12.00pm, I’ll provide some snags bread and sauce – you provide drinks, and anything else you may desire.
See you there!
