Perched atop a sixty foot cliff offering stunning views of the Yadkin River, this campsite is easily accessible from the road. Please only park on the west side of the road to leave the rest of the area accessible to vehicular traffic. There is space enough at the campsite for more than a dozen tents and trees for anyone who wishes to bring a hammock, so you're welcome to camp out as well. Facilities are available at the main entrance to the Uwharrie Rec Area and the boating access area to the north. River access is available via a hike down the cliff or via a boat access south down the road.
If you're interested in camping out with me, I'll be lighting the campfire around 7PM. Local geocacher markcase may very well astound you with his big pot culinary skills! Supper will be potluck and whatever everyone manages to bring and wishes to share. If you're camping, please remember to bring water, toiletries, chairs, flashlights, food, trash bags, and anything else you deem necessary for a comfortable overnight stay. The convenient parking will allow you to bring and use as much gear as you can fit into your car.
If you have a favorite board or card game, feel free to bring it along. If you have cornhole or washer games, this would be a great opportunity to bring them. This is meant to be an easy, fun, community-building event.
If you write a "Will Attend" log, please let me know if you intend to camp so I can keep track of the number of camping spots needed and campsite food to bring for sharing.
