Keep in mind that much of Pole Canyon Rd is a dirt road, and in the winter months you'll likely have trouble getting a regular vehicle up here, but you could easily drive a snowmobile or snowshoe/cross-country ski up here if you were so inclined. A solid 4x4 vehicle might get the job done too IF the snow isn't too deep.
Most of these caches follow the following format: They are located in a tree (about half of which are juniper/pine), are securely placed off the ground so as to be year-round accessible, and are usually not far off the road (usually about 10-30 feet from the road main road, or a spur thereof).
