Geocache Description:

Welcome to Collers Beach

This beach was named after Uriah Collers who first farmed in Burrill Lake and then Mollymook.

In 1923 it is believed that 1426 tons of shell grit  valued at 580 pounds was taken from the beach by RG Kelly and Harry Spence (Collers Beach was claimed by the Spencers as being part of their property).  In 1926 114 tons was taken from the beach and In 1928 only 52 tons were taken.

The area is also popular with surfers with both the northern and southern points producing waves.

The cache is a medium sized container with log, pencil and some small swaps.  The quickest way GZ is from Shipton Crescent where stairs will take you down to the rock platform and its a short walk to be beach. Another way is to park at the Bogey Hole in Burleigh Way and walk along the beach to GZ Watch out for muggles in the house behind. Please note: The cache is not on private property
