Geocache Description:

CITO with the purpose of cleaning the starting area of several walking trails (including the APE trail) in the center of Intervales State Park.

This State Park is pretty popular with tourists and geocachers alike. Inevitably, this leads to a certain degree of pollution.

As geocachers, we are interested in finding intact geological systems and are also responsible for keeping them that way. Often enough, tracks are evident where hordes of cachers are looking for a container and some rubbish frequently happens to stay behind.

With this CITO we would like to contribute towards the persistence of both this natural park and all the hidden caches as well.

Junior kindly let me know that the area near Pica-Pau Lodge where several tracks including the APE trail start could do with some cleaning!

Therefore, we will meet next to the swimming pool of Pica-Pau Lodge (S 24° 16.062 W 48° 24.585) on Monday, 24.03.2014 at 07:45 AM.

We will start cleaning the area around S 24° 16.092 W 48° 24.614 at 08:00 AM. Depending on how many participants we are we should be able to fulfil this task within half an hour.

That way, we begin the week with a good deed and will have the rest of the day exploring the natural wonders of the park and finding some caches.

I will bring some plastic bags and single-use gloves.

Please log a 'Will attend' if you are planning to join us.

I am looking forward to meeting you!
