Geocache Description:

Zone Point, close to St. Anthony Head at the southernmost tip of the Roseland Peninsula. Reachable by foot from the nearby car park.

St. Anthony Head has been owned by the National Trust since 1959 and prior to this was a costal artillery fort. In conjunction with fortifications at Pendennis Castle at Falmouth and St. Mawes Castle, St. Anthony Head protected Falmouth harbour.

Also at this location is St. Anthony Lighthouse (closed to the public), fantastic bird watching, beautiful views across to Falmouth and St. Mawes and enjoyable cliff walks.

To get to this cache it is recommended to park at St. Anthony Head (car parking fee is £1.00 payable in an honesty box). Zone Point is 3/4 of a mile along the cliff path from here.

Care should be excercised along the cliff path, especially at Zone Point itself where the cliff edge is unfenced. Keep a close eye on your children and/or dogs if you have them with you. The path can also get muddy when it's been raining.

To retrieve the cache, which is in a dark brown ammo-box, you would be advised to have a pair of gloves, as it is protected by some nettles and brambles.

This cache contains a camera, feel free to take a picture or two, the film will be processed at some future time and some of the pictures posted here or at a linked webpage.

Multimap.com has a good Aerial Photo of this area.
