A&A Splash Mob Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Aquachippy: I think it’s time the “A&A Splash Mob” was archived thanks to all those who turned up to make it such and enjoyable day. Maybe if some more caches are published on the waveney we can do it again another time.

Geocache Description:

Event by aquachippy & ailsim

The idea of the Splash Mob is to meet up at the given co-ordinates at 09:30 Saturday 28th June 2014. The event will last for 30 minutes only so don't be late. We wanted to try and entice more cachers onto the river to have a go at some of the caches placed along the river Waveney and thought an event may encourage a few more people to venture onto our local waterways.

If you haven't already noticed this is a 1/5 DT event at the time this was written there were only 35 in the UK so this could be a good chance to fill in your grid if that square is still empty. After the event some cachers may like to continue up river to join us at our second planned event of the day "A&A Paddlers Pit Stop" which will be held between 15:30 and 16:30 at Geldeston Locks.

Waveney Paddle series numbers 1 to 11 can be found along this section of the river for those who wish to have a hunt. It will take approximately 1 hour 30 min's from Beccles to Geldeston by canoe but we recommend you allow at least 2 to 3 hours if you plan to look for these caches.

To attend the event you will ideally need to arrive at the location by canoe, kayak or boat. Floating plane, swimming or doggy paddle are acceptable but not recommended.!!!!

Please be aware

Refrain from blocking the slipway at Beccles for any length of time.
We have added free parking co-ordinates to the description.
Vessel licensing is required on this section of the river if you intend to launch any kind of canoe or boat weekly licence's are available (See link below)
Use appropriate safety equipment for your activity - this could include a life jacket or a buoyancy aid.
