Geocache Description:

This series will bring you to all the City Boundary Markers in Hong Kong. The stones are now identified by AMO as government historic sites. Wish you enjoy the history of Hong Kong while trying your best to grab a smiley.

You may finish all the caches in one day or visit them one by one. If you decided to do it in one row by walk, you are suggested to start from either Wong Nai Chung Road or Victoria Road and it will take at least 5 hours.

Enjoy your journey!

About City Boundary Marker
When Hong Kong Island was occupied by Britain in January 1841, there were 16 villages. In 1843, Britain created the city of Victoria covering Sheung Wan, Central and Wan Chai. The government later erected boundary stones on Hong Kong Island marking the city limits. Each stone bears the inscription 'City Boundary 1903'.

The seven boundary stones marking the area of the former Victoria city:
  • Victoria Road
  • Pok Fu Lam Road
  • Hatton Road
  • Old Peak Road
  • Magazine Gap Road (disappeared in June 2007 during slope renovation work: http://www.scmp.com/article/609775/one-our-historic-city-boundary-stones-missing)
  • Bowen Road
  • Wong Nai Chung Road
