Bass Point was named by Matthew Flinders, after his good friend George Bass, around 1800. The spot is well known amongst fishers and Bushrangers Bay is used by locals for swimming and snorkeling.
The gates at the entrance are open 7 days, between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM in winter and between 6:30 AM and 8:00 PM in daylight savings. The gates are also closed during a total fire ban.
Once at the Bushrangers Bay car park, follow the green emergency assembly area signs to the end of the trail. From there, navigate to GZ the usual way.
The cache is a 1 L plastic container with all the usual. Please be sure to rehide how you found it.
Also included is an additional waypoint that points to a lovely, deep, clean, and generally warm rock pool.
