For The Love Of Hiking, is just that. Some of you, including myself, have found the caches in this area, but others haven’t. No new caches can be placed, so what you see is what we have.
The length of the hike is just under six miles. Most of the trail is no longer maintained by the Forestry Service, but is frequently hiked, and is in good condition. With the exception of a few fallen trees, it is very passable. The terrain level is low with only one long slope hike up, and no steep hills.
The hike will start at the fire tower, and proceed north to the “Blue Diamond Trail.” We will follow the rim of the plateau. There is an unmarked trail between the end of the plateau and Terrell Cemetery, which we will take to keep the hike under six miles.
