Thanks to mkleggs I discovered this road. I picked up the caches along the first couple of kilometers and continued on to explore. As many folks enjoy a long walk, I thought it would be nice to add another cache or two further in.
As mkleggs advises “Often the gate is open but don't be tempted to drive your vehicle in because when you return it could be locked.”
The road is used by Saint John Water to access pumping stations and dams, and it is maintained for their use year round.
This road is a great place for a long walk or a run – there is a little traffic but not a lot and the road is well maintained even in winter. Views of the lakes and the woods make it a very pleasant spot for a little exercise. On February 2 when I placed this cache I was planning an out and back with a turnaround point of either: the water pumping station, 10K, or 1PM, whichever came first. 1PM came first, so I sat on the top of the water line caisson and ate my lunch, hung this little cache container in a small spruce tree beside it, and headed back to my car outside the gate. It was a good day!
I placed this cache to be accessed on foot or by off road vehicle not as a park and grab. Please remember there is a gate at the beginning of the road and that it can be closed at any time.
