While driving the Glacial Hills Region of central Pottawatomie County searching for geocaches, saw a rather large and black object out in the distance. Since there is a cemetery north of that location that I was going to place a geocache anyway, just had to drive towards this object.
As I got closer, figured that that big black object was just a pile of mulch or something covered in black plastic. When I pulled up close to object, just had to exclaim, "That's one B.F.R.!!!!!".
If you have been in the military, then you should know what a B.F.R. is. If you never been in the military, then ask someone that is and they should be able to tell you what B.F.R. means.
For right now, lets just say that B.F.R. = Big Rock of significant size, or words to that affect (after all, this is supposed to be a family oriented web-site).
Anyway, this particular B.F.R. just happens to be Sioux Quartzite from South Dakota that was transported here during the last Ice Age that covered this part of NE Kansas. Unfortunately, someone has spray-painted this beautiful rock BLACK for whatever reason (have been told that the local high school senior class comes out to this B.F.R. and it is supposed to be TRADITION to paint it).
To get to this location, travel east/west on KS Hwy 16 between the towns of Wheaton, KS, and Onaga, KS, until it intersects with Major Jenkins Road. Turn north and travel roughly 2 miles (approximate) until you reach the intersection with Golden Belt Road/Old Hwy 16. There will be a TRIANGULAR intersection here with that B.F.R. in the middle of said triangle. ENJOY exploring that thing for I sure did.
Coordinates WILL place you CENTER-MASS on TOP of that big piece of Sioux Quartzite. All you have to do is search: ON, IN, UNDER, AROUND or whatever until you find the container. May be considered a P-n-G - maybe.
Searching for a PILL BOTTLE.
