C.B.H.U. - Cairns Bruce Highway Upgrade
Following almost two years of demolition, diversions, pile driving and construction, Stage One of the CBHU - from Sheehy Road to Ray Jones Drive is almost complete.
One of the key elements of this first stage, was the removal of the Forest Gardens Boulevard/Sheehy Road/Bruce Highway intersection, which has been replaced with an overpass and a new Service Road, running parallel to the Bruce Highway, allowing traffic to travel from George Cannon Drive to Anderson Road, then onto Charlotte Close before linking into Rigg Street at Woree. Access to this cache and the suggested parking location is best achieved using the Service Road.
To assist in the monitoring of traffic flow along this new section of the Bruce Highway, a number of traffic cameras have been installed. I've counted at least six of these sky mounted cameras during my daily drives into the city. It is to one of these "Eyes in the Sky" that a small cache container has been attached.
While this cache maybe easily located, care must be taken when accessing the cache hide, as at times, there will be plenty of muggles driving close by. The cache itself is available 24/7.
This is a 'log only' cache with no room for swaps. Remember to bring your own writing stick, to record your visit for posterity.
