YUCATAN GEOCACHING -
There are usually some birds here...flamingos, egrets etc. Follow the short dirt road towards the lagoon and park your vehicle. If it is the rainy season, you may not want to park too close to the lagoon as it may become muddy. Follow the foot trail along the edge of the mangroves (it is somewhat elevated). Do NOT leave the trail as the terrain may be unexpectedly soft and, in some areas, unsure footing due to loose gravel. Take care of prickly plants, cactus and ground critters.
If you are visiting the area via a cruise ship in Progreso and need some help arranging transportation, you can email us as: yucatangeocaching@gmail.com CONGRATULATIONS to Cdh32 & Jab78 for their second "first to find " of the day.
