Geocaching Trails

For the beginner: After learning the world of geocaching at the 101 session, get your feet wet and try those new skills. Meet new geocachers and team up with them or try these trails solo. Enjoy two trails; one leads you to James Ranch Park with medium to large containers including tradable items. Before you leave this park stop and enjoy the gardens. The second trail will take you to Mill Bridge Park along the Little Miami River canoe launch.  Or try some of the traditional caches.

Traditional caches: Looking for more traditional caches and a leisurely stroll in the parks? Four different trails will be set in various parks. Enjoy the sights and sounds of spring as you seek your treasures. Look for wildflowers and the sounds of warblers as you look for caches at the Narrows Reserve. Explore the meadow, old farm fields, and don’t forget to take a walk around the community gardens that are on site at Karohl Park. Another series of traditional caches will lead you to three serene fishing ponds that can be found at Spring Lakes Park. This park is perfect for everyone and includes hiking trails, picnic tables, and a fishing pier. You can also take a visit to a wetland. Hershner Reserve is not open to the public yet, with no true parking lot or trails, but it is a fabulous place to see wildlife! Looking for more caches?  When you return to Caesar’s Ford Park think about searching for these caches while you enjoy the sounds of nature.

Puzzle and multi caches: Enjoy working a little for your coordinates and cache box? If so choosing one of these adventures might be for you! A puzzle cache will be set around a portion of Greene County taking you to Historical sites. Do you like canoeing, kayaking or simply just getting wet? Get a little more familiar with where Greene County has river access with this puzzle. (You will not actually be getting wet).

Bike Paths: Are you a cyclist, roller bladder, jogger, or have little ones needing strollers? You will be able to find numerous caches located along some of Greene County’s 62 miles of paved scenic trails.  Some caches will be accessible from nearby parking lots for those who want to enjoy just a walk.

Greene County Businesses:  Explore want some of the charming communities Greene County have to offer. See some unique shops as you complete a series of caches that highlight the best of the area’s local businesses.

Challenge Caches: Experienced cacher? Ready to think outside the cache box? This is just for you! This series will be tricky, some will take a lot of thought, and some will require more physical demands, all taking you to some of Greene County’s finer parks.

Night Cache: Bring a flashlight, put your GPS unit in your pocket and follow the reflective tacks leading you on an exciting geocaching adventure you’ll never forget. A beginners trail will also be available.

So who’s up for this day of Adventure?
