We were teens of the 1980s in both high and college and we have many fond memories of those years. We have placed a series of caches to honor the pop culture (movie, tv, song, etc) or an historical event of those years. This cache is for the cult movie, The Princess Bride. It was released in 1987 and was producted by Rob Reiner. It starred Mandy Patinkin, Andre the Giant, Fred Savage, Peter Faulk, Cary Elwes, Billy Crystal and Carol Kane.
If you are one of the few who may not have seen this classic, I won't give you any spoilers. The movie features, a princess, a farmboy, pirates, a giant, swordsmen, an albino, a magic man and great adventure. The hero must face many dangers, including the Fire Swamp. Now you may not have to face the three known dangers of the Fire Swamp: R.O.U.S.-rodents of unusual size, fire spurts or and lighting sand, but natural impediments exists. The wise cacher may not attempt this cache when nature is at its fullest. You may face many six legged, eight legged and no legged creatures. Density of foliage will change through the seasons. I am rating difficulty at what I believe will be at its fullest.
.Parts of the trail has barbed wire along the greenway, it should not be an issue after placement in new location. Parking is limited at the trail head, but there is a school and a church nearby to park at. Let not the natural impediments of this fire swamp keep you from your "true love" of caching or allowing it to become a "mostly dead" cache. You are seeking a camouflaged plastic container. Please place the GZ back as you found it so the difficulty rating can stay.
