Geocache Description:

A true urban cache...but be prepared to be a while.

All is included in the hide, logsheet, pencil and sharpener......I would take the hide back to your car, or have deep pockets, or a caching buddy.

No sign, no smiley!!!

Owner of house is aware, (My in-laws!!) but stealth is paramount to this hide, no need to go into garden, cache is obtained from the path.

The difficulty reflects this.

Congratulations to Wismill on FTF, 15 mins after publication!!

Poplar tree is commonly known as aspen and cottonwood. It belongs to a populus genus that is made of about 35 species of deciduous flowering plants which belong to the family Salicaceae. Poplar trees are native of the Northern Hemishphere. Western Balsam Poplar species was the first tree to have its full DNA code in the year of 2006. Poplar trees can grow anywhere between 15 to 50 meters tall with trunks up to 2.5 meteres in diameter. The bark is smooth usually even when tree gets older. The leaves are spirally arranged and come in different shapes. Small leaves are usually on side shoots while very large leaves are on strong growing lead shoots. The leaves are bright gold in fall.

OR.........

Poplar was the most common wood used in Italy for panel paintings; the Mona Lisa and most famous early renaissance Italian paintings are on poplar. The wood is generally white, often with a slightly yellowish colour.

Some stringed instruments are made with one-piece poplar backs; violas made in this fashion are said to have a particularly resonant tone. Similarly, though typically it is considered to have a less attractive grain than the traditional sitka spruce, poplar is beginning to be targeted by someharp luthiers as a sustainable and even superior alternative for their soundboards: in these cases another hardwood veneer is sometimes applied to the resonant poplar base both for cosmetic reasons, and supposedly to fine-tune the acoustic properties.

Two notable poems in English lament the cutting down of poplars, William Cowper's The Poplar Trees and Gerard Manley HopkinsBinsey Poplars felled 1879.
