Feeling Loopy Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Barngineer: This has been here for almost 6 months, so it's time to comply with Open Space rules and shut it down. I'll reuse the container in another location shortly.

Geocache Description:

A jar of stuff just off the Nelson Loop Trail in Hall Ranch Open Space. The closest access is from the Antelope Trailhead off of Apple Valley Road, but you can also get to it from the Hall Ranch Trailhead on Hwy 7.  Or, when the Button Rock Preserve opens back up, you can hike from there.  I rode my bike, but it's also a pleasant hike or horseback ride.

I first rode this trail during a period of unemployment a few years ago. Now that I have steady work, riding it makes me a little nostalgic for the days of less money and more free time.  Anyway, this location is close to a big rock formation that I have scrambled up several times to enjoy the views and eat a snack.  You can see Mount Meeker and Longs Peak from up there if you look to the West.  You can also see the valley where I live if you look to the North.  When I placed this cache, I saw a huge wild turkey not too far away.

This is the third cache I have placed in Hall Ranch in the past few months. I'm hoping that as the weather warms up, a whole mess of geocachers will come and enjoy these great trails and then head into Lyons to spend some money.  The town was hit pretty hard by the flood in September and was economically affected by being shut down for a couple months after.
