Alma Halse (1907-1969)
Alma Halse ble født på Sunnmøre. I 1933 reiste hun til Alta som forkynner og hjelpearbeider innen Pinsebevegelsen. Hun hjalp foreldreløse, fattige og hjemløse, flyktninger, syke og eldre. I Bossekop bygget hun opp barnehjemmet Betania, omsorgsboliger innen psykiatrien og pleiehjem for eldre og syke. Hun hjalp også finske flyktninger under Vinterkrigen. I 1963 fikk hun Alle Kvinners ærespris for sin kristen-humanitære innsats i Alta. I 1965 mottok hun Kongens fortjenstmedalje i gull. Alma Halse ble begravet i Ålesund. På hennes gravstøtte står det: «En kvinne i kamp for andre i nød».

Alma Halse was born in Sunnmøre. She travelled to Alta in 1933, to preach an work voluntary in the name of Assemblies of God. She helped orphans, the poor, the homeless, refugees, sick and elderly people. She established an orphanage in Bossekop, named Betania, as well as several care homes within psychiatry and nursing homes for the elderly and sick. She also helped the Finnish refugees during the Winter War. In 1963 she received All Women's honorary award for his Christian humanitarian efforts in Alta. In 1965 she received the King's Medal of Merit in gold. Alma Halse was buried in Ålesund. On her tombstone reads: "A woman fighting for others in need."
